Emu
Systems, Inc.
"Googlehumper"
Composite for "Darwin"
promotion.
For
the introduction of Emu
System's digital
audio recording
system, Darwin, the
company wanted a striking
and humorous image that
would help communicate their
position that conventional
tape was an evolutionary
dead end.
So the "Googlehumper",
as they called it, was born.
OK, not really born.
Working from a sketched
idea of a cartoon-like bird,
several comps were developed
and the concept was refined.
The resulting image is a
composite of ten or eleven
images.
The image was quite popular
so the image was re-worked
into a four-foot tall in-store
sales display.
